Emotional Intelligence

Neither education, nor experience, nor knowledge, nor mental ability. There is nothing in these factors that serves as an indicator of the reasons for the success of one person and the failure of another. There is one more thing that society seems to be indifferent about.

We see examples of this every day in workplaces, homes, places of worship, schools and among neighbours. We notice the suffering of intelligent people with a high degree of education, while the prosperity is enjoyed by people whose skills or qualities appear few and then we ask ourselves: Why is this happening?

The answer is often associated with the term "emotional intelligence". Despite the difficulty of identifying and measuring emotional intelligence - compared to the average IQ - and the difficulty of including it in a resume, it is a force to be reckoned with.

And now it is no longer a secret to anyone. Soon, emotional intelligence became people's talk and preoccupation for some time, but they - somewhat - were unable to decipher its power. Ultimately, as a society, we strive to continue to focus the greatest amount of our self-development energies in acquiring knowledge, experience, intelligence and learning. It would be fine if we could honestly say that we are fully aware of our own feelings, not to mention the feelings of others, and understand how those feelings affect our lives on a fundamental basis on a daily basis.

I think that the gap between the popularity of the term emotional intelligence and its application to society is due to two reasons: the first is that people do not understand what emotional intelligence is, so they mistakenly view it as a form of personal attraction or social intimacy. As for the second aspect, they consider that emotional intelligence is a faculty that a person has or does not exist, and they do not consider it as something that can be developed.
